But we may not always be aware of our teachers and the lessons that are in front of us.
We learn from loved ones, friends, strangers and even our worst enemies. And although you’d rather have some of these people out of your lives, they are in it for a reason. Just like our children can teach us patience, tolerance and unconditional love, our enemies can teach us lessons that are just as valuable – if not, then at the very least, they teach us what not to do!
By no means am I saying that there’s a right and wrong here. In fact, if you take away the emotion and opinions that people have, then there is only cause and effect, or action and reaction. How we perceive the results is what causes us pain and negative feelings, and not the outcome itself.
So next time you start to wonder why someone is in your life, or why something is not going your way, stop and ask yourself if there is in fact an opportunity for you to learn a valuable life lesson.
It took me a long time to figure out that people in my life that who were causing me immense pain, were actually there to help me to grow. I didn’t recognise it at the time but this is how the universe works. Now I thank and bless all of the teachers in my life, obvious ones and also not so obvious ones in the physical world….as well as the ones in the inner world. With immense gratitude, with tremendous respect and with unconditional love…
